  • Niya graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Landscape Architecture in 2020, before joining LOCI as an Entry-level Landscape Designer. Niya has always been interested in sustainable landscape design, large-scale land development projects, parks and open space design, as well as public engagement initiatives.

    She is passionate about enhancing and improving the ecosystem services of the living environment to achieve ecological, social and economic benefits.

    Niya holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Engineering in Landscape Architecture from Soochow University.

With years of practical experience in the field, he firmly believes that architecture should serve the broader community, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. His commitment to sustainable design principles and dedication to creating spaces that enrich people's lives are at the core of his design philosophy.

    Jorge's background in architecture, combined with his knowledge of urban environments, enables him to focus on enhancing ecosystem services and promoting economic, ecological, and social benefits. From small-scale residential projects to large multi-use planning, he finds joy in the entire landscape design process.

    Collaborative by nature, Jorge excels at working with teams to bring forth creative solutions and deliver exceptional results. Jorge Garza is driven by the desire to create great places that inspire and uplift individuals while contributing positively to the community as a whole.

  • Natalie is a motivating force on any project team. She takes pride in her collaborative nature and leadership. She combines her skills as an ISA TRAQ-certified arborist and landscape designer with her passion for the environment. Natlie is a firm believer in the healing power of nature, working hard to create meaningful landscapes that promote both social and ecological well-being. 

    Here at LOCI, Natalie functions as a Project Manager and Senior Landscape Designer, leading coordination and design efforts across all phases. She collaborates closely with the LOCI team and external consultants to ensure design quality and timely delivery of drawings, reports, and visualizations. Her role bridges conceptual thinking and technical execution, contributing to landscapes that are resilient, context-sensitive, and people-focused.

  • Jonathan holds a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Conservation with a Major in Global Perspectives, both from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining LOCI as a Landscape Designer, Jonathan gained industry experience by interning with Craine Projects as a Horticultural Assistant Landscape designer, and engaging in highly personalized and custom design work as a freelance. His passion towards outdoor activities and finding respite in nature inspires him to partake design work catered for communities and city’s needs while utilizing ecological technologies and strategies.

    Jonathan is specialized in horticulture, wildlife interactions, and ecological processes. His preference for understanding complex adaptive systems allows him to appreciate the holistic nature of landscape design. In his free time you can find him somewhere in the mountains or along the coastline, appreciating the environment worth conserving.

  • Mengyi (Lucy) Li holds a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and another from the University of Manitoba. She joined LOCI as a Senior Landscape Designer and Project Manager in 2025, bringing 8 years of diverse experience in North America and China.

    Lucy's work focuses on sustainable public landscapes, large-scale urban developments, and inclusive open spaces. Her project portfolio spans all phases of design — from early concepts to construction — across parks, institutional sites, rooftops, and streetscapes.

    As a SITES Accredited Professional and CSLA Associate, she is committed to design that thoughtfully integrates ecological systems, cultural context, and everyday human experience. She approaches each project with clarity, empathy, and a collaborative mindset, aiming to create landscapes that are both resilient and meaningful.

  • Allen enjoys the synthesis of architecture, landscape, and urbanism to create cohesive public environments. As a Junior Designer at LOCI, he brings a strong foundation in multi-disciplinary design, holding a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urbanism from the University of British Columbia.

    At LOCI, Allen leverages his technical proficiency in AutoCAD and keen eye for detail to craft complex urban sites, ensuring that projects are both practically sound and creatively inspired by their cultural and physical context.
